Kendriya Vidyalaya, (Hindi: केन्द्रीय विद्यालय) (Hindi for Central School) is one of the top schools in Sundargarh and provides quality education to the children of Central Government employees. The school is affiliated to C.B.S.E and the medium of instruction is English/Hindi. The Vidyalaya has state-of-the-art fully accessible infrastructure. It has classes from I to XII. In the Senior Secondary section, the Vidyalaya offers English Core, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths/Hindi core in Science Stream and English Core.

Mission

Sports and Games

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has Structured the school activities in such a manner as to ensure an all-round development of the students instead of confining to mental development through lessons in the class room. Adequate opportunities are provided to the students to take part in games and a variety of other co-circular activities. This helps the students develop a healthy spirit of sportsmanship and companionship, which will enable them face the life with ease. This will also help them develop physically, aesthetically and morally.

The objectives are :

Physical and Health education are an integral part of the academics. The students are encouraged to participate in sports activities at different levels, namely :
(a) Within the Vidyalaya between different "Houses" into which the students are divided.
(b) Between two or more Vidyalayas at the cluster level.
(c) Between clusters at the regional level.
(d) Between region at the national level.
