European Leadership Centre (ELC)

The European Leadership Centre (ELC) was established in 2002, by IEDC-Bled School of Management, Bled, Slovenia, in order to promote European leadership through conferences, workshops, round table discussions, and research.

The ELC's vision is to:
- Create a forum for European business and government leaders
- Promote leadership excellence among European leaders
- Enhance the synergy between the public and private sector in Europe

The ELC has three main objectives:
- to promote knowledge of leadership in Europe via applied research and networks
- to organizes conferences, seminars, and workshops to develop leadership capabilitites and share ideas of this subject with the world
- to set up focused roundtable discussions for distinguished leaders on specific themes.

The network of ELC conference participants
Close to 200 business, government, NGO and media leaders from 22 countries (Albania, Austria, Belgium, BiH, Croatia, Check Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, UK and the USA) have participated in the ELC conferences since 2003. Besides business leaders the ELC network also includes Dr. Erhard Busek, Dr. Riccardo Illy, President of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Milan Kučan, former president of the Republic of Slovenia; Jozefina Topalli, President of the Parliament of Albania, Dr. Peter Kraljič, member of the McKinsey Advisory Council; Dr. Janez Potočnik, the EU Commissioner, Mr. Joachim Bitterlich, Executive Vice President, VEOLIA Environnement, Prof. Dr. Helmut Sihler, President of the Supervisory Board Porsche AG, Janez Stanovnik, former President of Slovenia, and others.
