Soldier, what did you see?
- Soldier, what did you see?
"Soldier, What Did You See?" is a poem written by Don Blanding, a soldier in both World War I and World War II. This poem shows how he felt about fighting after his military experience. He talks about how strange it is that we have not learned from wars before. The last verse is:
'"What did you pray soldier? What did you pray at war?I prayed that we may do the thing that we have not done before; That we may mobilize for peace...Nor Mobilize in vain.Lest Christ and man be forced to climb stark Cavalry again.""'
