"Moon" is the 40th single released in Japan by Kumi Koda. It is the first release after Koda's controversial statement in January 2008. The single follows a similar pattern to previous releases "Freaky" and "4 Hot Wave," but has been advertised as being a "4 elements single." The single debuted at #2 on the Oricon daily charts, with more than 26,000 copies in its first day, more than her single "Freaky" in early 2007. However, the following day, the single fell to #3 but climbed to #2 the next day where it remained for the rest of the week. "Moon" was kept out of the #1 position only by a mere 9,700 copies. However, the single is her highest first week sales since 2007's "Freaky." Also, the song "Lady Go!" was used in a CM by Visee Kosee to promote their new product Glamorous Hunter.

The single will contain the a-side, "Moon Crying" which is the theme for ABC Television drama "Puzzle". Other tracks include collaboration song "That Ain't Cool" featuring Black Eyed Peas vocalist and pop/R&B singer, Fergie as well as a track written and composed by reggae artist Pushim.
