September 2006 at the State General election, defeating one of the few incumbent Liberal Member'sTerry Rogers . Lillian unsucessfully contested the 2005 By-election in which Rogers was elected after the resignation of the former Labor member and speaker of the Queensland Parliament,Ray Hollis .Lillian was born in
Holland in1957 and lives inRedcliffe , the namesake city that she represents. Lillian is a former teacher and school Principal.Lillian is a Member of the State Labor Government, lead by Queensland's first female Premier, the Hon. Anna Bligh. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party .
In September 2008 Lillian was embroiled in a workplace bullying allegations from her former office manager. The matter is currently before the Parliamentry Crime and Misconduct Comission (see link)
