The U.S. state of Delaware first required its residents to register their motor vehicles and display license plates in 1909.
Passenger plates 1942 to present
All plates issued since 1942 can still be used in Delaware with current stickers. Authorized reproductions of porcelain enamel license plates can be obtained through a private vendor [http://www.dehistoricplate.com/ Delaware Historic Plate Company] ] , provided they fall within the state's guidelines.
