"Jewish Renaissance" is a quarterly cultural magazine founded in 2001, one of the expressions of the increasing self-confidence of British
Jew s in acknowledging and celebrating their cultural heritage.The magazine focuses on
the arts –visual arts andarchitecture ,music , cinema,theatre andliterature inEurope and inIsrael – as well as onJewish identity and relations with other cultures and religions. It is most noted for its community features. In each issue there is a 10-16 page illustrated feature on different community, drawing on historical material; contemporary interviews and the work of expert analysts. These have ranged from the Jews ofDenmark to the Jews ofAustralia ; from the Jews ofChina to the Jews ofArgentina .A founder member of
Jewish Culture UK , an association of Jewish cultural providers, the magazine is independent and financed by subscriptions and advertising. It won the awards for the Best Non-Synagogue Magazine and for the Best Professional Article in theBoard of Deputies of British Jews Awards in 2002 and in 2007 it was on a shortlist of three for thePeriodical Publishers Association Independent Publishers Achievement Award.Its mission is “To encourage and intensify the current renaissance in Jewish culture.”

The Jewish Chronicle . Notable individuals from the British Jewish Arts World sit on its editorial advisory board, including the actressMaureen Lipman and playwrightArnold Wesker .External links
