The CMT Music Awards is a fan-voted awards show for country music videos and television performances. The show was established in 2002 as the CMT Flameworthy Awards and was renamed the CMT Music Awards in 2004. The awards ceremony is held every April in Nashville, Tennessee and broadcast live on CMT.

The 2008 CMT Music Awards were held on April 14, 2008, at Belmont University's Curb Event Center. The ceremonies were hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus, who performed "Ready, Set, Don't Go".
