Tane Samuels is a fictional character in New Zealand's longest running soap opera "Shortland Street". He has been portrayed by Dominic Ona-Ariki since 2007.

Character History

Tane first arrived in Ferndale with his cousin Wiremu Potae to live with his uncle TK Samuels in July 2007 [ [http://www.throng.co.nz/shortland-street/shortland-street-tks-cousins-tane-and-wiremu-arrive Shortland Street: TK's cousins Tane and Wiremu arrive | Shortland Street | Press Releases | Throng ] ] just after the death of Claire Solomon. Tane and Wiremu left for awhile but later returned in October to attend music school. Car Crash

Tane and Sophie

In early August, Tane returned from the spinal unit at Central Hospital. On August 4th he had a one night stand with Sophie McKay who he referred her as his 'girlfriend' but he soon realised that it wasn't meant to be.

Nursing

Tane's return saw him determined to become a nurse and with James Scott's help he was accepted to attend nursing school and become a wheelchair nurse.
