The Tom Fun Orchestra is an indie rock ensemble from Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. The band features an unconventional mix of electric and acoustic instruments, including violin, banjo, accordion, trumpet, double bass, electric guitars and drums. History

The Tom Fun Orchestra was formed in 2004 by singer-songwriter Ian MacDougall. They have performed all over Central and Eastern Canada and at festivals in the UK. The band recorded their debut album, "You Will Land with a Thud", with Violent Femmes singer-guitarist Gordon Gano and record producer Warren Bruleigh. It was mixed by Phil Palazzola and mastered by Howie Weinberg and released January 29, 2008 on Company House Records (EMI Music Canada). [http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=52207]
