Ballyclare Secondary School

Ballyclare Secondary School is a co-educational school in Ballyclare, County Antrim. It caters for ages 11-18 and was established in 1961. The current number of children on roll is approximately 1000 pupils with a teaching staff of 64.

The school has proven popular over the years and this resulted in the growth of the number of pupils attending the school and thus the school buildings were enlarged and modernised in 1993.

The Headteacher is Mr S A McCrea.

The school is linked with Toyama National College of Maritime Technology [http://www.mofa.go.jp/region/europe/eu/report/country/uk/profile01.html] and this connection has been in existence for over ten years.

Famous alumni include musician Eric Clapton and confederate general Stonewall Jackson.
