Lipstick Jungle (novel)

"Lipstick Jungle" is a novel written by New York writer and socialite Candace Bushnell, that weaves the stories of Nico O'Neilly, Wendy Healy, and Victory Ford, who are numbers 8, 12, and 17 on The New York Post's list of New York's 50 Most Powerful Women.

The premise appears to tread similar ground to Bushnell's famed "Sex and the City," following the lives of three New York career women; a fashion designer called Victory Ford, magazine editor Nico O'Neilly, and Parador Pictures president Wendy Healy; however in this book the women are a little older, richer, and more powerful.

A television series pilot was based on the book, starring Brooke Shields as Wendy Healy, Lindsay Price as Victory Ford, and Kim Raver as Nico O'Neilly. The series was being filmed for NBC, which announced on May 14, 2007, that the series would be part of its Sunday night primetime schedule following the end of the 2007 season of "Sunday Night Football." The series was to premiere on January 20, 2008, but its debut was delayed to February 7, at Thursday night's "ER"'s time slot. CTV Television Network will be airing the show in Canada. *Nico O’Neilly — The glamorous editor-in-chief of "Bonfire Magazine", a pop-culture bible for show-biz, fashion, and politics. (Loosely based on "Entertainment Weekly".)
*Victory Ford — Fashion designer, single.
