Pendle Vale College is a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school in Nelson, Lancashire.

History

The school opened in September 2006 as part of the first wave of a nationwide 10-15 year programme of capital investment funded by the Department for Education and Skills called [http://www.bsf.lancsngfl.ac.uk/index.php?category_id=8 Building Schools for the Future] . It currently occupies the site of the former Walton High School; its new buildings, scheduled for completion in September 2008, will be on an adjacent site shared with Pendle Community High School.

Attainment

In 2007, 34% of Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-C GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics (national average 46.7%).The school's value-added measure was 981.9 (national average 1000).
