William Michael 'Bill' Jones is the 2008 Democratic nominee [ [http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/election_results/2008_0715/swfed.htm Unofficial And Incomplete Results of the Tuesday, July 15, 2008 General Primary Election] "Georgia Secretary of State"] for ushr|Georgia|6| ( [http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/ga06_109.gifmap] ) of the United States House of Representatives. The incumbent is Republican Tom Price.

Bill entered the United States Air Force Academy at age 17 during the closing days of the Vietnam War. He earned his pilot wings and flew missions across the globe in support of military and humanitarian operations. During his 21 years of military service, Bill received numerous awards, including the Air Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

During his 19-year career as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, Bill Jones served as a leader in management as well as in the pilot’s association. Serving as Chairman of the Air Safety Committee, Bill spearheaded innovative passenger safety programs, working to push for new national standards for handling smoke and fire on airliners. In 2002, Bill received the Leather Helmet Award, the Delta Air Line Pilots Association’s highest award for contributions to Airline Safety.

Since 2005, Bill Jones has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SA Technologies, a Marietta-based high technology business. Bill is also an active volunteer for the Red Cross, serving to respond to disasters in Cobb and Cherokee Counties. He lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife Mica and their three daughters.
