Patti Ann Browne (born September 10) is an anchor and reporter on the Fox News Channel.

Patti Ann currently hosts Fox News Live headline segments during "Your World With Neil Cavuto", among other Fox News shows. She also substitute anchors various shows. On international feeds of Fox News, Patti Ann also hosts "Fox News Extra" segments, which air in place of U.S. commercials. Browne is also a regular guest on "Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld", a late night talk show on Fox News.

Career

Browne has been with Fox News Channel full-time since August 2000, anchoring "Fox News Live" headline news updates and as a fill in host for shows during many different time slots. Additionally, she anchors hourly news updates for the Fox News Radio network.

Prior to joining Fox News, Browne was an anchor for MSNBC, hosting a 2-hour weekend show, "Weekend Morning Line". During her years at MSNBC, she covered un-scripted breaking news and conducted live interviews with international newsmakers. While a part of the NBC news network of channels, Browne also filled in as a substitute news anchor on CNBC.

Prior to joining MSNBC, Browne worked for News 12 Long Island, Long Island's 24-hour cable news channel covering Nassau and Suffolk in NY. While at News 12 she co-anchored the station’s highest-rated show, its 3-hour morning news program. Browne first joined News 12 as a general assignment reporter, and spent several years out in the field, covering major stories side by side with New York City reporters. She also hosted 'Reporter Roundtable', News 12’s weekly half-hour news talk show. Browne received praise for her live coverage from the scene of the Long Island Railroad massacre committed by Colin Ferguson, and for her un-scripted anchoring of the crash of TWA Flight 800. Browne went live from Manhattan covering the investigation after the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. She reported from Washington, D.C. covering national issues affecting Long Island, Browne also reported from Albany, New York covering state politics, and from the United Nations during international crises.

While working evenings at News 12, Browne spent some mornings filling in on WBAB, a popular Long Island FM rock music radio station. She was their substitute news anchor for a brief period, opposite DJ Bob Buchman.

Browne gained network affiliate experience as a full-time anchor/reporter at WSJV- TV in South Bend, Indiana — the region’s ABC network affiliate at the time, now a FOX affiliate. Browne headed the station's Michigan Bureau. Browne's first television job was nightly anchor and News Director of WLIG TV 55, seen in New York City and on Long Island.Before moving to television, Browne's broadcast career began in radio, at WLIM-AM on Long Island, NY, where she was morning-drive news anchor/writer.

Education

Browne earned a Masters Degree (GPA 4.0) in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY. She attended on a full scholarship (teacher assistantship), which involved teaching news-writing and production skills to undergraduates. She was also a general assignment reporter for NYIT’s award-winning news program “LI News Tonight”, which airs nightly on Long Island cable.

Browne has a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Fordham University in NY. Many New Yorkers remember her from her college days, when she co-hosted a popular Irish music program on Fordham's far-reaching radio station WFUV-FM (90.7FM). She was also news anchor and News Director of that 50,000-watt station.

In addition, Browne was editor of Fordham’s literary magazine "Alternative Motifs". While at Fordham, Browne worked for "Newsweek Magazine" part-time for four years, and was an intern for Joan Lunden’s syndicated weekly television show on parenting called “Mother’s Day” (later "Every Day").

Personal

Browne lives in the New York City area with her husband and son. She grew up in Queens, New York. She has an identical twin sister and a younger sister. She remains close to them, their husbands and her four nieces, as well as to her parents.

Her hobbies include reading, running, volleyball and water-skiing. In 1997 she served as Aide to Grand Marshall of the Glen Cove Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. She has also served as volunteer for Island Harvest (which distributes leftover food) & the Interfaith Nutrition Network (Long Island soup kitchens and shelters).

Browne has traveled independently to many international destinations including Hungary, Austria, England, Ireland, France, Mexico, Canada, in addition to her travels throughout the U.S.
