Winter Story

Winter Story

"Winter Story" is a series of four compilation albums by the Korean musical group Shinhwa. They were released from 2003-2007 during the winter seasons (hence the title of the albums), with each album covering an overlapping two-year span. The only span missing is 2005-2006.

Overview

Although each of the album contained the title "Winter Story", they are not however related in any way as all their tracks differ from one another. The first "Winter Story" contained 14 tracks, with some being actual songs while others were voice recordings of the members themselves (most notably Dong Wan). In addition, they promoted the "Winter Story 2003-2004" with the single "Young Gunz", a song that became popular throughout South Korea. It was rather closely related to the first album of the series, having a total of 14 tracks and with Shinhwa promoting the album with one single, "How Do I Say." The album also received the strongest amount in sales, selling over 100,000 copies.cite news | first= | last= | coauthors= | title= Album Sales For The Month Of March 2005 | date=| publisher= | url = http://www.miak.or.kr/stat/kpop_200503.htm| work= Recording Industry Association Korea| pages = | accessdate = 2007-10-12 | language = Korean]

The third "Winter Story" album contained much smaller tracks than the previous two, with a total of only 4 tracks (although the latter two of it were instrumentals of the first two). Although it was released in two additions, sales of it flagged and were mediocre at best.cite news | first= | last= | coauthors= | title= Album Sales| date=| publisher= | url = http://www.miak.or.kr/navigator.php?contents=html&usemode=list&DB=117| work= Recording Industry Association Korea| pages = | accessdate = 2007-10-12 | language = Korean] The fourth one of the series was released in 2007 and contained three tracks (all three were actual tracks and not instrumental or voice recordings). Sales did not rose from the last one and instead barely pushed pass the 30,000 mark.cite news | first= | last= | coauthors= | title= Album Sales For The Month Of January 2008| date=| publisher= | url = http://www.miak.or.kr/stat/kpop_200801.htm| work= Recording Industry Association Korea| pages = | accessdate = 2008-02-29 | language = Korean]
