Frederick Edward Ridgeway

Frederick Edward Ridgeway was an Anglican Bishop from 1901 until his death 20 years later [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . He was born in 1848 and educated at Tonbridge School and Clare College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1872 he held Incumbencies at St Mary the Virgin, Glasgow (from 1878 [ Where he was additionally Dean of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway from 1888 until 1890] ) and St Peter’s, Kensington(from 1890 until his elevation to the Episcopate) . He was initially the inaugural Bishop of Kensington [The Times, Monday, Feb 18, 1901; pg. 8; Issue 36381; col A "Ecclesiastical Intelligence. Consecration of Bishops Suffragan"] and latterly Salisbury.
