List of CHERUB agents

This is a list of CHERUB agents who appear in the CHERUB series of novels by British author Robert Muchamore.

Major Characters

James Adams

The main protagonist of the series, James Adams is intelligent, good-looking and resourceful but has a reputation of cheating on girlfriends.

Lauren Adams

James' younger sister, Lauren Adams is one of the youngest Black-shirts in the history of CHERUB and is regarded as an outstanding agent by the chairwoman, Zara Asker and many of her colleagues. James however regards lauren as: "a dagger in my backside"

Kyle Blueman

Kyle Blueman is James' best friend and a more senior agent. While extremely intelligent, he is a well-known troublemaker around campus. He left in Mad Dogs.

Kerry Chang

Hong-Kong born karate champion Kerry Chang is an ex-girlfriend of James' and is a powerful opponent in the dojo.

Bruce Norris

One of James' closest friends, Bruce Norris is a skilled and destructive fighter but sleeps with a stuffed bear.

Dana Smith

Dana Smith is a skilled Australian-born agent who began a relationship with James in "". However, she is caught cheating on James in and is dumped.

Gregory Rathbone

Originally the son of a CHERUB target, Gregory Rathbone, more commonly referred to as "Rat" is Lauren's on-off boyfriend.

Minor agents

C

hakeel Dajani

Shakeel Dajani, more commonly known as "Shak" is one of James Adams' closest friends and a talented rather than spectacular agent.

Shakeel was one of a number of illegal immigrants found inside a shipping container by UK customs officials. His father suffered a heart attack at a detention center a few weeks later and attempts to trace Shak's family back in Egypt failed miserably.

In "The Recruit", Shakeel completed basic training alongside James, Kerry, Connor, Gabrielle, Nicole and Mo and achieved the grey shirt for his triumph.

He had a minor role in "The Killing" in which he joined James on a minor mission, his only mission to be seen in his whole history in CHERUB.

Despite appearing in all nine books, Shakeel's role has declined considerably since his first appearance in The Recruit.

E

Michael Hendry

Michael Hendry is a good friend of James Adams' and is boyfriend to Gabrielle O'Brien, a fellow agent.

Although he has a minor appearance in "The Fall" in which he attends James' birthday party, his official introduction is in "Mad Dogs" in which he infiltrates the "Slasher Boys" alongside Gabrielle, chosen mainly due to his afro-caribbean features. He is an important figure in the mission's success.

In "Mad Dogs", he appears to see Kyle as a confidant and commonly asks him for advice after the stabbing and hospitalisation of Gabrielle.

L

Mo

Mo passed basic training alongside James, Kerry, Gabrielle Connor and Shakeel in "The Recruit" and was described as extremely bony. He was apparently found in a box at Heathrow airport at the age of four- his parents have never been found.

He wasn't seen again until "The Fall" in which he attended James' birthday party. His disappearance has never been explained.

Mo is a notably minor character and doesn't even have a profile on the CHERUB website. He is also one of the only agents not to be given a surname.

Gabrielle O'Brien

Gabrielle O'Brien was born in 1991 in Jamaica to two officers in the Jamaican police. Her parents both died in a car accident and Gabrielle joined CHERUB twelve years later. The CHERUB website confirms that Gabrielle's mother worked with CHERUB on two occasions before her untimely death.

First introduced in "The Recruit" alongside most of the other major characters, Gabrielle was paired up with Nicole and later Connor during basic training and passed after 100 gruelling days, earning her grey shirt.

A strong friendship with Kerry Chang can be seen throughout the series; she worked with her in combat training on two occasions, consoled her after her dumping from James and is often seen hanging around with her.

She is also extremely close with boyfriend Michael Hendry, and have been referred to as the closest young couple on campus.

Her only major appearance was in "Mad Dogs" in which she and Michael infiltrate the drug-dealing Slasher Boys. Gabrielle herself is stabbed during the mission by a large gang of thugs and is hospitalised, pulling her out of action instantly. Although the blow was non-fatal, she was reduced to a wheelchair for a short period after the attack.

Bethany Parker

Bethany Parker is Lauren Adams' best friend and is a skilled agent on CHERUB campus. Despite being athsmatic, she passed basic training on her first attempt.

Bethany was born in Newcastle Under Lyme in 1994. Her parents died in a tragic helicopter accident during a sightseeing flight over the Grand Canyon in 2001. Bethany, and her younger brother, Jake, joined CHERUB soon after.

Despite a couple of minor arguments (most notably in "The Fall"), Bethany and Lauren have a solid friendship and are practically inseparable.

A running gag is the mutual hatred between Bethany and James, perhaps due to jealousy of his sister's affections on James' part. On the CHERUB website, James simply quotes: "I hate her guts."
