Nena Toth Born September 12, 1948 Occupation Cinematographer Nena Toth (born September 12, 1948) has directed 27 short films in Europe and North America.
Prof. Toth is a graduate from the Film and TV School of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), where she has earned a Master’s degree in Cinematography. Her teaching experience includes 25 years in European and North American universities. Faculty of Dramatic Arts, FAMU, USC, Toronto University. This summer 2007 she was replacing Ottawa University professor, teaching a Documentary Film Seminar.
Nena Toth,filmmaker, has produced 57 short films and videos. She was a Director of Photography in over a hundred short films and videos, as well as in three features: “Women in Jail” What is happened with you Nina?!’ and “Out of the Way” feature film in official competition at Calgary International Film Festival 2007, Canada
Nena’s films have earned international awards and recognition of which won first prize in the experimental category for her film “Phantasmagoria”, at the Niagara Indie Film Festival, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.[1]
From her independent film company Nena Film Verite Productions, documentary film ”Celebrating Ottawa”, won Golden Medal for the best tourist film, MEFEST 2005, Brus. The same film at International Film Festival of Traveling reportage INTERFER, Sombor won Silver prize.
Documentary film “Canoeing to the Arctic” in International Film Festival EUROPRESS 2007, Serbia brings Nena prize for the Best script of the festival and silver medal for the film.
Most recent the first International Tourist and Ecology Film Festival JAHORINAFEST 2007 film “Canoeing to the Arctic” won bronze prize.[2]
