Ebenezer Robertson Goodfellow (
April 9 ,1906 –September 10 ,1985 ) was a Canadianprofessional ice hockey defenceman who played for theDetroit Red Wings in theNational Hockey League .Born in
Nepean, Ontario , Ebbie helped the Red Wings win two consecutiveStanley Cup s in 1936, 1937 and 1940. In 1940, he was awarded theHart Trophy , as league MVP. He was inducted into theHockey Hall of Fame in 1963.Goodfellow died of
