Remiah

Remiah were a popular three piece band from Harpenden in the United Kingdom. The band was formed in October 2003, and produced powerpop music perhaps most closely resembling the sounds of R.E.M.. [http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=4601498]

The band members were Paul O'Gorman, the band's main songwriter, lead singer and guitarist, Steven Condell, who played the bass guitar, and David Drake who played percussion. Christopher Sullivan occasionally guested as the bassist, although he is was not a recognised member of the band.

Remiah were best known for personal, local gigs at pubs and music venues in and around Harpenden. "The Inn On The Green" in Harpenden and "The Horn" in St. Albans being the most frequented.

Remiah were known to attract large audiences of keen fans, and the band never failed to produce a charged atmosphere of exictement with lively and powerful live numbers, the most popular being "The Way", "Believe" "I See" and "Avesbury". The band claims to be influenced by such bands as Rage Against the Machine, Muse, Incubus, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Faith No More. After a very unproductive year for the band in 2006, the band went on indefinite hiatus, finally splitting up in late 2007.
