Pimpala railway station, Adelaide

Pimpala railway station, Adelaide

Pimpala railway station was a ground level stopping place during the passenger transport days of this line, and a 1965 reference mentioned that it was no longer used at that date.

The stop is now completely disused, the entire Willunga railway line, Adelaide line having been dismantled in 1972.

Australian Railway Historial Society Bulletin No 336, October 1965

Local legend in Morphett Vale tells tales that the old Pimpala railway station was located at what is now Pimpala Primary School. Evidence such as railway tracks have been found in the area. It is also widely believed that the bike track surrounding the area was once the location of the Willunga railway line because of the way it has been built in some places and the flatness of the whole track.
