Poochakkoru Mookkuthi

"Poochakkoru Mookkuthi" (translation: "A Nose-Ring for the Pussy Cat") is a screwball Malayalam film starring Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, Sukumari, Shankar, Menaka, M G Soman, Jagathy Sreekumar, Kuthiravattam Pappu, and Srinivasan.

The film, released in 1984, was the debut of Indian director Priyadarshan. The assistant director was Sibi Malayil, who went on to become a major director in his own right.Fact|date=March 2008

Poochakkoru Mookkuthi marked the first time the Indian actor Mohanlal was directed by Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan was Mohanlal's friend and senior in college in Thiruvananthapuram. The film started a long association between the actor and director, which resulted in a number of now-classic comedies in Malayalam, including "Kilukkam", "Chithram", "Vellaanakalude Naadu" and "Thenmavin Kombathu".Fact|date=March 2008

In 2003, Priyadarshan remade the film in Hindi, as "Hungama", starring Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal etc.

Singer M. G. Sreekumar made his debut singing the title song of this movie.
