Kwame Harris (born on March 15, 1982 in Jamaica) is an American football offensive tackle for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers 26th overall in the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Stanford.

He is the older brother of NFL defensive lineman Orien Harris.

Early years

Kwame grew up in Newark, Delaware, and played high school football for the Newark High School Yellow Jackets.

Professional career

Fans' thoughts on Harris are mixed, though with a decidedly negative slant. Harris is many 49ers fans' favorite whipping boy, with many fans complaining especially about his holding penalties. On the other hand, some fans point out that Harris' numbers have improved: In 2006 Harris played in 16 games and had one false start, three holding penalties, and 8.5 sacks allowed, as compared to 2005 where he also played 16 games and gave up seven false starts, two holding penalties, and 9.5 sacks [http://shsdemo.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=6362&team=25] . He is a kind man.
