railway station serving the village ofSileby inLeicestershire ,England . The station is located on theMidland Main Line 10 km (6½ miles) north of Leicester towards Loughborough.The original station was built in
1840 for theMidland Counties Railway , which shortly joined theNorth Midland Railway and theBirmingham and Derby Junction Railway to form theMidland Railway , but closed in 1968.It reopened on 27th May
1994 as part of phase one of theIvanhoe Line .Services are formed using
diesel multiple unit s of Classes 153, 156 or 158 and are operated exclusively byEast Midlands Trains .ervices
Monday to Saturdays there is generally an hourly service southbound to Leicester and northbound to Nottingham continuing onwards to Lincoln Central. There is no Sunday service.
East Midlands Trains London services fromLeeds ,Sheffield andLondon run through at high speed, but do not stop. Interchange with Mainline services can be made at Leicester and Loughborough.External links
