List of WCW World Tag Team Champions

This is a chronological list of tag teams that have been WCW World Tag Team Champions. The WCW World Tag Team Championship was a professional wrestling world tag team championship competed for in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Originally, WCW was a territory for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), where the championship was created in January 1975, and the first champions were Gene Anderson and Ole Anderson, who were awarded the championship after winning a tournament.cite web|url=http://www.midatlanticgateway.com/Almanac/mid_a_history/title_status_building.htm|accessdate=2008-05-24|title=Mid-Atlantic Title History (NWA World Tag Team Championship)|publisher=Mid-Atlantic Gateway] In January 1991, the WCW created their own version of a tag team championship, and vacated the NWA version, after Doom (Ron Simmons and Butch Reed) defeated the Steiner Brothers (Scott and Rick).cite web|url=http://www.wrestling-titles.com/wcw/wcw-t.html|accessdate=2008-05-24|title=WCW World Tag Team Championship History|publisher=Wrestling-Titles.com] On July 12, 1992, the WCW World Tag Team Championship was unified with the NWA Tag Team Championship, after Terry Gordy and Steve Williams defeated Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes. In March 2001, all WCW assets were purchased by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).cite web|url=http://corporate.wwe.com/news/2001/2001_03_23.jsp|accessdate=2008-05-24|title=WWE Entertainment, Inc. acquires WCW from Turner Broadcasting|publisher=World Wrestling Entertainment Corporate|date=2001-03-23] The final champions recognized by WCW, were Sean O' Haire and Chuck Palumbo, who had defeated The Insiders (Diamond Dallas Page and Kevin Nash) on January 14, 2001.
