The College of Imaging Arts and Sciences is one of Rochester Institute of Technology's eight colleges. In 1885, RIT's art department was created. Classes only offered in industrial design, drawing, and architecture. In 1992, College of Graphic Arts and Photography and the College of Fine and Applied Arts combined to become the College of Imaging Arts and Science. In 1998, the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences was divided into the School of Art, and the School of Design.
