Robert Vincent Remini (born
July 17 ,1921 ) is ahistorian and a professor at theUniversity of Illinois at Chicago . He is the author of numerous works about PresidentAndrew Jackson and theJacksonian Era .He received his B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. from
Fordham University and Columbia universities. He is professor of history emeritus and research professor of humanities emeritus at theUniversity of Illinois at Chicago . He won theNational Book Award for the third volume of his study ofAndrew Jackson , and he has also written biographies ofHenry Clay ,John Quincy Adams ,Martin van Buren andDaniel Webster .On
April 28 ,2005 , Remini was appointed theHistorian of the United States House of Representatives .elected works
