Phosphorix

Phosphorix is a small UK-based open source software company founded in 2001. They are a software development company based in Exeter, located in a rural setting just outside the city.

Phosphorix have extensive experience in web-based software and ideas development. The Phosphorix founders are keen advocates of Open Standards and the company soon adopted the principles of Open Source Software, Rapid Application Development and eXtreme Programming to meet its development needs.

Phosphorix have made and continue to make significant contributions to educational and 'not for profit' organisations with the launch and release of a range of interoperability middleware solutions known as ioNode servers. This grew out of repeated calls from the UK education sector for methods of making disparate systems and applications communicate.

The company has been recognized by government funded bodies, JISC and CETIS, for its contributions to the SHELL Project. Phosphorix contributed to the XCRI project which developed a schema for course related information. Phosphorix have been involved in a number of JISC funded projects.
