aux3 = nihongo|Sumeragi Lee Noriega|スメラギ・李・ノリエガ is a fictional character in the Gundam series, "Mobile Suit Gundam 00". Sumeragi is a kindhearted person that admires the youth of young people, and drinks a lot as she is often seen with beer or a liquor flask. She prefers to be on Earth rather than living in space.

Outline

First Season

Sumeragi is the tactical forecaster of the Celestial Being mothership Ptolemaios; she is not the captain, but is because she is essentially the top ranking officer on the ship, she takes command. She basically plans all the strategies the Gundam Meisters take part in and her strategic predictions are almost always accurate.

Sumeragi enjoys drinking, even in the middle of an operation, and is frequently seen with a liquor flask in hand. She went to college with Billy Katagiri, and they both had Leif Aifman as a professor. It was noted that her name was also a codename, and that her real name was never mentioned, except in episode 6, where she was referred to by Aifman and Billy as nihongo|Kujoh|九条 and in episode 14 and 18 in E-mail by Billy. Her status as of the events after Episode 25 are unknown; presumably she is at the asteroid base of Celestial Being, but she was not shown during the sequence after Episode 25's credits.

econd Season

Sumeragi's first appearance in Season 2 is with Billy Katagiri. In the previews for Episode 2 Setsuna visit's Billy's house to get Sumeragi to return to Celestial Being.

History

Like many members of Celestial Being, Sumeragi's past has been kept secret. In episode 6, after hearing her name, Graham Aker mentions that Sumeragi was once part of an incident in the 4th Solar Wars that cost the lives of her personnel because of misprediction and miscalculations; this may have caused her alcoholism.
