Gary Mullen Is a British singer and songwriter best known for closely impersonating Queen front man Freddie Mercury with his band The works. Gary Mullen became a fan of Queen at an early age and had always been a keen singer. Eventually his love of singing led to him joining a couple of local bands where he cut his teeth playing live at various clubs around the country. Being a karaoke enthusiast he found much enjoyment in visiting The Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow where his uncanny performance of Queen songs always seemed to wow the crowd. Although writing lots of his own original material beforehand, Gary shot to fame after appearing on British TV talent show "Stars In Their Eyes" as Freddie Mercury, winning both the live grand final and going onto represent the United Kingdom in the Euro grand final versions of the show. One Night Of Queen

Since winning Stars In Their Eyes, Gary Mullen has toured with his band The Works, putting on a sell-out two hour tribute act known as ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN. The show takes References from many 1980 Queen tours, using a modified custom built lighting rig, made to emulate the lighting rigs used during Queen's 1982 Hot Space tour.

Gary’s performance as Queen front-man Freddie Mercury is considered by many fans to be completely astonishing and accurate some have even called Gary the perfect replica. Brian May himself has written "Gary bears a remarkable likeness to Freddie, not only in emulating Freddie’s unique stage persona but also accurately reproducing Freddie’s live vocal style and range."
When asked about One Night of Queen, Queen's Drummer Roger Taylor jokingly said that Gary puts more Freddie into a show than Freddie himself did, and he hopes Gary won't put the real Queen out of a job.

DAVIE BROCKETT:

Davie Brockett was brought up in Glasgow and started playing guitar at the age of 15. His work encompasses great breadth and depth from jingles for Radio and TV to music for video games to original no nonsense Rock. His work was also included in a promotional multimedia CD for the University of Glasgow.

In 1998 he began Planet 8, an original project which now includes a band, an album, a live show, a website and has resulted in a cult following in the U.K and the Far East.

Davie has played in many bands bringing to each his own unique style, talent and presence. One of the bands has been the hugely popular Thin Lizzy tribute band 'Fat Betty' which has a large following in Glasgow and its environs.Davie has done a great deal of session work with various artists and production companies including Craig Armstrong, BBC Scotland, ITV, Sky and Radio Clyde. He was also mentioned in Total Guitar magazine as "one of Scotland's best guitarists" in July 2001.

Davie has his own recording studio in Glasgow and recently completed the music for BAFTA award winning T.V series Raven.

BILLY MOFFAT:

Billy Moffat started playing bass at the tender age of 10 and is now firmly established as a quality player who is a popular choice for session work. Billy, along with Davie Brockett, played on a Frankie Miller tribute CD on the track As Good As Gone. Billy lists his musical influences as Rush, Muse, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix, Chic and many, many more.

JONATHAN EVANS:

Jonathan Evans started playing drums at 13 while still at school. He spent his time playing in the school orchestra and big band with highlights including being recorded at the BBC studios and travelling to Denmark to play at a selection of festivals.

Since leaving school Jonathan has played in numerous rock bands all over the country and coincidentally played on the same bill as Gary during one of his solo shows.

Jonathan's main influences are The Barenaked Ladies, Matchbox Twenty and the James Taylor Quartet.

His solid sense of rhythm and skill make him an ideal Roger.

MARTIN CAMPBELL: (FORMER KEYBOARD PLAYER)

Martin Campbell was influenced by his grandfather who was a pianist. He started to experiment with keyboards at the age of 14. This started him on the road to being a self-taught keyboard player and he continued until he was 16 when he stopped to concentrate on his apprenticeship. He regained his interest in playing in his mid twenties.

Martin started to play in bands where he met Graeme Carswell a good friend and fellow musician. It was through Graeme that Martin was introduced to 'The Works'.

Martin's musical taste is wide-ranging. He enjoys listening to funk, rock, classical and jazz, though Van Halen and Harry Connick Jr have been his main inspirations.

As well as music, Martin is passionate about Shotokan Karate; he is a keen practitioner of the traditional form of the art and holds a black belt. Any spare time is spent going to the gym. Martin left the band at the end of July 2008 a replacement has been found by their management Handshake Ltd known as Malcolm Gentle.
