Gen Hermogenes C Esperon Jr is a retired general and the former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines serving as the coordinator of the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Marine Corps, Philippine Coast Guard and the Vice - Commander of Presidential Security Group. After retiring from the AFP, he took the position as President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's adviser on the peace process in Mindanao. Controversies
