The Macquarie Triple Junction is a geologic triple junction located on the seafloor of the South Pacific Ocean south of New Zealand where three major tectonic plates intersect: the Indo-Australian Plate, the Pacific Plate, and the Antarctic Plate. It is named for nearby Macquarie Island.
At this triple junction, the three plate boundaries are: the Southeast Indian Ridge (SEIR), the Pacific-Antarctic Ridge (PAR), and the Macquarie Fault Zone.
