Ricchiuti was born in Argentina but moved to Italy in his teens to join Ternana, then playing in Serie D. He has since played for a number of Serie B and Serie C1 teams, including Genoa, Pistoiese and Arezzo.

During the first matchday of the Serie B 2006–07, Ricchiuti scored the equalizer in a league match against Juventus, this being the first goal suffered by the "bianconeri" during their one-year stay in the Italian second tier.
