MagneLine

MagneLine

MagneLine is a name of a type of Polymer Cement Mortar (PCM) produced by Magne Corporation in Fukuoka, Japan, distributed by Greenstone in North America. MagneLine has been in use since 1970's in Japan for over 400 bridges. It is mainly used for reinforcement of concrete and metal structures such as bridges, highways, and high-rise buildings. Earthquake proofing is another application which is common in Japan. The reason why MagneLine has been used on so many bridges was because it can reduce the cross-sectional area of bridge support columns leaving more room for the river water and traffic. It is also environmentally friendly (qualified in Japan to be used on drinking water structures such as water ways and tanks), no smell, and easy to apply (bridge bed can be reinforced from underneath without disturbing the traffic above).
