Ultra 24

The Ultra 24 is a family of computer workstations by Sun Microsystems based on the Intel Core 2. It is the first Sun workstation with an Intel processor since the Sun386i from 1988, and the first to bear the Ultra brand name to do so.

The Sun Ultra 24 launched in 2007 [http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/validateUser.do?target=Systems/Ultra24/Ultra24] and ships with Solaris 10 pre-installed. Other than Sun's own Solaris, it is officially compatible with various flavours of Linux as well as Microsoft's Windows XP and Windows Vista.

The Ultra 24 is a combination of Sun, Intel, and NVIDIA, this is one of the highest-performance single-socket workstations available. The Intel ultra-fast Quad Core-based workstation is perfect for advanced engineering and more.
