Its territory includes all of
County Roscommon and the southern portion ofCounty Leitrim (the area to the east and south ofLough Allen ) in the province ofConnacht . This territory was previously represented through the constituencies of Longford-Roscommon and Sligo-Leitrim, both of which were abolished in 2007. The new arrangement eliminated the breach of theLeinster -Connacht provincial boundary caused by the Longford-Roscommon constituency.2007 Election result
