Vassilis Xanthopoulos AKA Vasilios Xanthopoulos (in Greek: Βασίλης Ξανθόπουλος), born on April 29th, 1984 in Athens, Greece is a Greek professional basketball player. He is 6 ft 1 ¼ in (1.86 m) tall and he plays the point guard position.

Pro career

Xanthopoulos grew up playing for the Olympiacos junior teams, starting to play with them in 1997. He began his professional career in 2002, with Near East BC, in the Greek A2 League. Xanthopoulos transferred from Near East BC to Panathinaikos BC of the Greek A1 league in 2004 and with them he won the Triple Crown in Basketball Championship in 2007. His team accomplished this by winning the Greek Championship, Greek Cup, and the Euroleague all in the same season. With Panathinaikos, Xanthopoulos won 3 Greek Championships and 3 Greek Cups in a row.

In 2007, he transferred to Panionios BC and he currently plays for them.

Greek national team

He has also been a member of the under age 16 and under age 18 Greek junior national teams.
