Monster cam is a camera effect, long established in horror movies, of framing the shot as if from the "monster's" point of view. Typically this involves an unsteady camera that brushes aside leaves in the foreground as the "monster" lumbers through the jungle, etc. Another variant is slowly approaching the victim from the rear.
Notable uses
The Friday the 13th series of films made extensive use of this.
