The University of Lima ( _es. Universidad de Lima) is a university in Lima, the capital of Peru. It was founded in 1962 and is one of the country's leading private universities.

The decision to create the University of Lima was made in the early 1960s by a group of university professors, along with important commerce and industry representatives. It started with only 120 students in a small campus in the Jesús María District. Due to the university's quick growth, the campus in the Monterrico area of Surco was inaugurated to serve the university's space needs.

Today, the University of Lima has 10,470 students, ten schools, a postgraduate school, a general studies program and a scientific research institute, along with many services for students, faculty, and the community at large.

Model United Nations Team

University of Lima is well known for its Model UN team, which actively takes part in the Harvard Model United Nations Conferences, organized annually by Harvard University, and held in February in Boston, Massachusetts, in the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers.

University of Lima's Model UN team was founded by graduate law student, Andres Sabal, back in 2005 when he was still a student. Since then, the team has attended the conference and now is currently preparing to attend HNMUN in February 2008 with a now larger team of 20 students. The team is currently being led by:Ronald Cross (General Director), Luis Medina (Deputy-Director), Jimena Garrido (Treasurer) and Maria Jose Alfaro (Secretary)

The First Delegation

The first delegation attended the conference in February 2006, representing Tunisia. The 16 students who participated as delegates are:

The Second Delegation

The second delegation, attendend the conference in February 2007, representing Cameroon. The 15 students who participated as delegates are:

The Third Delegation

And, for the first time, the team is traveling with an advisor, Renzo Donizetti, a graduate from the Industrial Engineering School, and a former member of the 2007 team.

All of them will be attending HNMUN in February 2008, representing Ecuador.
