Philippe Muller is a French
cellist and distinguished cellopedagogue .Biography
Muller was born in 1946 in the
Alsace region ofFrance . He studied the cello withPaul Tortelier ,Mstislav Rostropovich andAndré Navarra .In 1970 he formed a trio with
Jean-Jacques Kantorow andJacques Rouvier .In 1979 he was appointed Professor of cello at the most prestigious
Paris Conservatoire , succeeding his teacher André Navarra. His pupils includeGautier Capuçon .Aside from his teaching duties, he is also frequently invited to serve as a jury member for prestigious international cello competitions.
