Simon Rosenthal (
November 13 ,1903 -April 7 ,1969 ) was a backupoutfielder inMajor League Baseball who played from by|1925 through by|1926 for theBoston Red Sox . Listed at 5' 9", 165 lb., Rosenthal batted and threwleft-handed . He was born inBoston, Massachusetts . In a two-season career, Rosenthal was a .266 hitter (95-for-357) with fourhome run s and 42 RBI in 123 games, including 40 runs, 17 doubles, five triples, fivestolen base s and a .319on-base percentage .Rosenthal served in World War II, becoming paralyzed from the waist down in a mine explosion at sea. His son had previously been killed in the conflict.
