"I'll Go Crazy" is a 1960 rhythm and blues song recorded by James Brown and The Famous Flames. [ [http://www.funky-stuff.com/jamesbrown/45.htm James Brown 45s] .] It was a Top 20 "Billboard" R&B hit, charting at #15. It was performed by the group as the first song on their million-selling album "Live at the Apollo". It is perhaps best remembered for the lyrics on the song's bridge:

"You gotta live...For yourself...For yourself..and nobody else!"

"I'll Go Crazy" has inspired cover versions by many different artists, including The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, The Buckinghams, Chris Isaak, The Phantoms, Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, Buddy Guy, The Nighthawks, Chuck Brown and Eva Cassidy, Graham Bonnet, and The Bad Boys. It was performed by Dan Aykroyd in the actor's tribute to Brown on his induction at the 2003 Kennedy Center Honors.

This song is used on the "Late Show With David Letterman" as theme music for the "Who Said It?" segment.
