C Shell Franklin

C Shell Franklin has been an American soldier, programmer, Artist, Graphic Designer and author (often performing many of these functions simultaneously). He was born to Milton Ronald Franklin and Shirley Edith Franklin on July 14, 1968 in La Mesa California at Grossmont Hospital. His father was in the National Guard so they moved a lot up and down the west coast. In the late 1980’s, Shell enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for almost 7 years, working Military Intelligence in South Korea and then at the National Security Agency in Maryland. While in Korea he met and married his first wife and had his first child, Kaucha Franklin. His second child, Deja Franklin, was born in Maryland.

Shell left the military in 1993 to move to Columbus, Ohio where his first wife had family. After only living there for a short time they separated. A year later he won custody of both his kids. During this time he met and fell in love with Caterina Runyon-Spears. Over the next few years he taught himself computer programming and helped rewrite the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation computerized systems.

Late in 1993 he got involved in a non-profit science and literary organization called Marcon (Multiple Realities Convention). Over the next 14 years he worked in a variety of positions including chairman and vice-chair multiple times. As the organization grew a parent corporation, The Science Oriented Literature, Art, and Education Foundation, was started and Shell became one of its board members and officers.

In his free time Shell designs digital art from abstracts and figure art to nature composites. He uses his art in web designs as well as offering them at artshows.
