Anthony Sparks is an American
television writer, playwright, and essayist. His writing credits, among others, include the ABC Family series, "Lincoln Heights" and the CBS drama "The District".Among his plays, "Ghetto Punch" has appeared in several venues across the country and was featured in "American Theatre" magazine.
Anthony began his career as an actor and appeared as a lead in the Broadway tour of the international hit theatre show,
STOMP .Originally from Chicago, Illinois where he attended Whitney Young Academic Center and
Whitney Young Magnet High School . He graduated with honors from theUniversity of Southern California where he studied theatre, film, and anthropology.Anthony recently received a 2008 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Dramatic Writing in a Television Series. Anthony Sparks is currently one of only a small number of African-American male television writers and producers.
