Homolje is a small region in East Serbia at the North corner just below the Danube river.

Population

In the elder days this space was inhabited by various tribes. Iliryans, Dacians, Thracians, Tribali, then came Celts, Romans, Goths and Sas.
Slovens came in the middle of 6th century
Ottoman conquer of this area has increased migration to the north.After the great migration of Serbs to the north (to Hungary and St.Andrea)a new settlers came - Kosovo population (Serbs and Montenegrians)

A vast majority of Homolje population are Vlachs of Daco-Roman origin. There are very few written documents about population of Homolje.
