SpectSoft is a software/hardware development company started in 1997 to create tools for the professional film and video markets. They are located in Oakdale, California.

Rave is a Linux based uncompressed recording/playback system, designed to capture pictures and sound from digital cinematography cameras, decks, Telecine and other devices. Rave systems record and play uncompressed SD to 4K images in 4:2:2 single link or 4:4:4 dual-link HD-SDI inputs. A single unit can be used for A & B camera or stereoscopic 3D.

Introduced in 2000, Rave features consist of, VTR emulation, EDL conform, Batch capture, Format conversion, 2D LUTs, Up, Down and Cross conversion. Turnkey units contain 3 to 24TB of raid array storage in both fixed and removable Drive Paks. Systems interface via single and dual-link HD-SDI and Rave units use a standard File System which is accessible via conventional Ethernet network connections.
