Tamati Kruger is a
Māori advocate and social/political analyst inNew Zealand . Kruger is ofTuhoe descent, working in tribal research and development on behalf of the TuhoeRaupatu . In 2002 he chaired the Second Ministerial Maori Taskforce on Whanau Violence. The members of this Taskforce were responsible for the development of the Mauri Ora Framework. A recognized authority inMāori language and customary practices, Kruger has published works in these fields.He has been actively involved in
iwi andhapū development over the last thirty years and is a respected social/political analyst on Māori society. A graduate ofVictoria University of Wellington he has lectured in Te Reo and Anamata, a Private Training Establishment inWhakatane .Recently he has spoken to the media on behalf of the Tuhoe iwi particularly concerning the controversial
2007 New Zealand anti-terror raids .Kruger is married with six children and two grandchildren in
Taneatua .
