U.S. Route 2 . The route originated as Vermont Route F-2 by1935 , which followed the same routing as 129. Route F-2 was the name of the road that approached a ferry to Chazy. Route F-2 was renumbered by1947 as Route 129.Route description
Route 129 begins at School Street on Isle La Motte. The route heads northward as "Main Street". This part of the highway is town maintained and is not signed as normal state routes. Route 129 heads north, intersecting with Shrine Road (Town Highway 2) before leaving Isle La Motte on a bridge for Alburg. The highway heads eastward, intersecting with local roads and passing to the south of Alburg Golf Links. Route 129 turns to the south, parallelling the shores of the La Motte Connector (a part of
Lake Champlain . At a curve to the east, Route 129 intersects with a short extension of itself, which terminates quickly. The route leaves the connector and heads eastward towardsU.S. Route 2 . Soon after, it terminates at an intersection with US 2 on the shores of another connector in South Alburg.
