Administrative Error

The results of improper Administration (business) or execution of the research task are administrative errors. Such errors can be caused by carelessness, confusion, neglect, omission or some other blunder. [William G. Zikmund (2003), Business Research Methods, 7E. ISBN 0-03-035084-0.] Four types of administrative error are:

Data-Processing Error

A category of administrative error that occurs because of incorrect data entry,incorrect computer programming or other error during data analysis.

Sample Selection Error

An administrative error caused by improper selection of a sample.

Interviewer Error

Admnistrative error caused by failure of an interviewer to record responses correctly.

Interviewer Cheating

The practice of filling in fake answers or falsifying questionnaires while working as an interviewer.
